The Mini-V 8•10 System is designed for vertical polyacrylamide gel separations of proteins and nucleic acids and for electrophoretic blotting of the separated molecules from the gel to a membrane. Both the electrophoresis and blotting modules accept one or two 8 ! 10-cm, 0.5, 0.75, or 1.5-mm thick gels, in any combination. Glass gel plates can range from 7 to 8.2-cm long and from 1 to 2- mm thick, and can be of different or equal length. The maximum blotting area is 7.5 ! 9 cm. No “blank gels” or sealing plates are required for single gel operation.
